Thankfully Easy Thanksgiving Lunch Ideas

Thanksgiving has arrived along with lots of family and friends and dinner is still a few hours away. The aromas from the kitchen have mouths watering and tummies rumbling. Thankfully you are prepared with a delicious butternut squash soup warming in the crock pot and ham rillettes which is sure to ease the tummies and satisfy the taste buds until dinner is ready. This serve yourself lunch allows you to spend time with your guests and take care of your duties in the kitchen too. There are many delicious recipes for butternut squash soup and the sweet flavor really compliments the saltiness of the ham rillettes.

Ham Rillettes

Ingredients:
1 stick butter, softened
1 pound deli ham
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Pulse ham in food processor until finely chopped. add the remaining ingredients and pulse until thoroughly combined. Transfer to ramekins, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or up to 3 days. Allow to come to room temperature for at least 30 minutes prior to serving. Serve with French baguette slices or crackers.
