Thanks Giving Butternut Squash Recipe

For a large group

2 to 3 large butternut squashes(cut up and cube and peel off the skin)

1/2 to 3/4 c. brown sugar (packed)

1 stick of butter

3 Tbsp. cinnamon (add more if you like cinnamon)

8 to 12 tart apples

Wash the butternut squash and cut the butternut squash in 1/2, and clean out all the seeds and strings. Then cut the squash into strips and peel and cut into cubes.

Put into a large mixing bowl.

Peel and core the apples and cut into cubes (soak in salt water until all are peeled. Then drain of the salt water and add the apples to the squash. Mix the butternut and the apples until they are well mixed together.

Mix together the butter, cinnaomon and brown sugar. Sprinkle over the butternut squash and apples. Then mix all together. Pour into a casserole dish with a cover and bake at 350 degrees for one hour. Test to see if it is done, if it is not done after one hour put back into the oven for another 20 minutes.
