Mashed Potato Recipes

Potato is a wonderful vegetable, which can be used with any other eatable. Potato makes a wonderful thanks giving recipe. Potato can be fried, mashed or mixed with other vegetable to give a great taste. Potato is mostly liked by children as well by adults, except by those who are on diet or weight reduction program.

Utensils
Following utensils are required: Potato peeler, Knife, Cooker, frying pan.

Ingredients
4 nos of Potatoes
2 nos of Onions
3 nos of Green Chilly
1 pinch of turmeric
3 spoons of mustard oil
Salt to taste

Preparation
For a family of four, you require 4 numbers of Big Potatoes. First take the cooker and add water to it. Cut the potatoes in to half and wash it well. Put these potatoes in to the cooker and boil for two whistles and after it is cooled peel the cover and mash it with hands or spoon into a paste. Cut the onion into small pieces. Cut green chilies in to small pieces. Then add the green chilies according to taste , cut onion pieces , salt to taste and 3 spoons of mustard oil into the potato paste and mix well. Make small balls with hand. You can serve this with rice or roties.

This is one of Thank Giving Vegetarian Recipe. Children will relish this thank giving dish.

Potato Upma

Ingredients
4 nos of Potatoes
2 nos of Onions
3 nos of Green Chilly or red Chilly
1 pinch of turmeric
3 to 4 spoons of sunflower oil
Salt to taste
3 to 4 spoons Channa Dal
1 spoon of Mustard
curry leaves

For preparation of potato upma is similar to the above. But here after boiling
Potato you peel the cover. Keep cut onion pieces and cut green or red chillies according to taste .

Preparation
Take frying pan put in on gas and keep it till you see fumes coming out. Then add the oil in the pan . After 5 minutes when the oil start to get hot, add the channa dal , mustard, cut onion pieces along with green chillies, & curry leaves. Stir the mixture till they turn slightly golden. Finally add the potato mash into the mixture and keep on stirring for some time. And then serve hot.
