Tin Can Turkey
What you'll need:
empty can, multi-colored felt, scissors, white glue and hot glue gun
Wash and dry the tin can completely, with the label removed. Put the can on the sheet of brown felt on its side. Determine how much felt you will need by rolling the can up in it, and give yourself an inch or so around the whole can. glue it to the can, folding over whats left and gluing it to the bottom of the can and also to the inside of the can. The seam will be the back of the turkey.
Cut out a tail from a piece of card stock, to be used to glue the felt onto. Cut out the rest of your turkey-a red wattle, white eyes, black pupils, and a brown head. Also cut out a gold beak and orange feet. cut out the feathers from the red, tan, orange, gold and brown felt.
Glue on all the parts to the turkey. Glue the orange feet to the bottom of the can. Lay the card stock tail down. glue on a red tail feather on top of the far right point. On the left, glue on another red feather. Overlap towards the middle, until you create a beautiful feather fan. Glue the tail feathers to the back of the can. Push the feathers around so they are displayed around the sides of the can.
Thankful Cards
What you'll need:
Multi-colored construction paper, black marker, scissors, craft sticks, white glue, basket, floral foam, Spanish or American moss, wide ribbon
Cut out leaves from the construction paper. Fold a piece of construction paper in half evenly, and lay the leaf so that the end of it lays on the crease. Then trace around the leaf pattern, cut out to form leaf-shaped cards. For each guest, write their name on the front of the leaf.
Have them write what they are thankful for inside of the card. When they are done, tie a piece of the ribbon around the basket, on the rim, and put a piece of floral foam in the basket with the moss over top of it. Glue the leaf cards to a stick and net dry, then place them into the floral foam. These are cute as place cards!
Pine cone Turkey
What you'll need:
pine cone, acorn or small nut, two wiggly eyes, glue gun, red and orange chenille stem, wire cutters, bird feathers, small piece of wood for the base, gold spray paint
Take a walk through the woods to gather the items you'll need for this fun craft. Spray the pine cone completely with the gold spray paint and let it dry. Using the orange chenille, cut two pieces about three inches, and fold the first stem into half. Twist around 1/4 inches from the end of it, and open up the ends to make the feet. Do the same thing for the second Orange stem.
Glue the feet into the largest end of the pine cone. Glue the pine cone body down onto the piece of wood. Glue the acorn or nut to the smallest end of the pine cone. For the feathers, blue them closest to the largest end, and then glue the wiggle eyes on to the acorn head. Use a very small piece of red chenille stem for the waddle and glue it on under the eyes.
