Thanksgiving Budgetfriendly Appetizers: Sun Chokes, Turkey Cornbread Etc
Sunchokes (Jerusalem Artichokes), Turkey Dressing Cornbread and the Best Sites for Helping with Your Cooking
Ingredients.
500g Jerusalem artichokes
Sea Salt
Olive oil
Fresh Basil
Fresh Thyme
Fresh Parsley
This recipe is real simple, however you'll need a good relatively large heavy skillet pan with a lid. Be sure to wash your sun chokes, however keep their skins the skin is really good for you. Add to the heavy skillet pan, pour over about 20ml's of olive oil along with the sea salt and fresh: basil, thyme and parsley then proceed to rub the consistency of herbs and oil into the edges of the sun chokes. Turkey budgetfriendly appetizer Cornbread dressing
Expert Village on YouTube brought this recipe to my attention. Turkey cornbread is really appetizing, and makes a great accompaniment for any meal once more it's budgetfriendly especially if your left with an abundance of turkey meat. This recipe also includes a turkey cornbread dressing.
Ingredients.
Turkey pieces
Three shoots of celery
1 onion
Couple of baps
100g Corn Flour. (yellow cornmeal)
100g Self Raising Flour
1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg
Teaspoon of Peanut oil
Sunflower oil
10g oregano
10g sage
10g thyme
10g basil
20g salt
750 ml Turkey stock.
Firstly you'll need a to make the cornbread in the small dish this will take about 25 minutes in a really hot oven. When cooked scrape from the dish and add to the bowl full of bread. White bread and baps or wheat-bread are all acceptable. Be sure to spice up the bread otherwise the recipe will be really bland. add the salt maybe a handful thyme, oregano, sage and basil. Tear up the bread into little wedges then add the turkey stock extracted from the roasted Turkey (chicken is also a good alternative) if you don't have enough fluid from your chuck then make a mixture with chicken stock cubes or better still you can purchase stock ready made however this may break into your budgeting, so be mindful of this. Mix it into the bowl of ripped bread then add an egg. Add a pinch of salt and a little bit of baking soda. Peanut oil can be added. Once this is churned up into a considerable. Depending on the size of your bowl and the thickness of your consistency add the corn-flour about 100g should suffice. Chop the turkey into tiny pieces and add to the turkey cornbread mixture. Chop an onion into small pieces and add this, plus the celery this will give the meal a great texture.
Now you'll need a wide shallow dish to cook the corn bread. Oil and grease the parameter and the the edge with sunflower oil. Place into the hot oven at 220 fro electric oven or gas mark 6. Leave in the oven for about 35 minutes or until nice and crispy. The mixture should come out looking nice and crispy but when you cut into it it will be soft and runny. This one is a very tasty budgetfriendly alternative for you thanksgiving dinner. It can be a great appertizer for all your guests and hey presto, is budgetfriendly.
