Thanksgiving Cakes

If you love eating and making cakes there are some wonderful recipes on the internet. Many of them are very easy to make. Most of them can be made with ingredients that you already have in your home. Below you will find some of my favorite sites that have some scrumptious looking cakes.

The first site is called http://www.bhg.com. This site is actually Better Homes and Gardens. Look at their cake recipes. There are quite a few there. If you are a coconut fan they have one that is called Buttermilk White Cake with Coconut. This cake looks really yummy. I like how they use eggs whites instead of whole eggs. I believe that cakes turn out moist and not as heavy when they are used.

Another cake that they have on their site is called Ginger Carrot Cake. This cake looks very simple to make. If you are a fan of carrot cake this one would be the one that you would want to make. The Double-Cream cheese frosting sounds like something to die for. This cake would be excellent to serve on Thanksgiving Day. The orange of the carrots would match the orange in the fall season.

The next site that I would like to tell you about is called http://allrecipes.com. They have delicious recipes on their site as well. There is a cake there called Spicy Apple Cake. This is a perfect cake for the fall season. This cake does take some preparation time, but it looks like it is well worth it. For those of you who like butter, you can substitute it for the shortening. This helps the cake to come out light and fluffy.

This site has a wonderful German chocolate cake too. They call it German Sweet Chocolate Cake I. For those of you who like nuts this is perfect. You will also get your chocolate fix too. Again this cake is time consuming, but it is well worth it. If you would like, you can substitute sour cream for the buttermilk. This makes the cake really moist. Can you imagine taking this one to the office you will be a great hit?

Here is a great cake for Thanksgiving. It comes from the same site and it is called Praline Pumpkin Cake. It looks very easy to make because it uses Betty Crocker products. This can be very helpful and it saves time. If you like cream-cheese this is going to be a great cake for you. It also uses canned pumpkin which is going to save time. This is definitely a winner in my book.
