Thanksgiving Centerpiece Ideas

Adding a Thanksgiving centerpiece to your table adds a touch of more of beauty and elegance to your holiday feast. Centerpieces do not have to be expensive or extravagant and many are easy to make on your own. There really are no rules to it.

The internet has many, many great websites that offer Thanksgiving centerpieces at reasonable prices and many more websites on creating your own. Here are a few of my favorite items and ideas for a beautiful Thanksgiving centerpiece.

If a floral Thanksgiving centerpiece is what you are looking for, Teleflora has a very nice selection. I personally like the Family Gathering Centerpiece. This beautiful flora centerpiece is made up of orange roses, orange Asiatic lilies, rust cushion spray chrysanthemums, yellow cushion spray chrysanthemums, orange alstroemeria, bronze button spray cushion chrysanthemums, fresh greenery and two orange candles standing tall in the center. It is truly gorgeous. Teleflora offers this Thanksgiving centerpiece in standard, deluxe and premium with prices ranging from $54.95 to $74.95.

Oriental Trading has come great, inexpensive products that would be great for a Thanksgiving centerpiece. One I really like is the Carved Thanksgiving Pumpkin Set. These three resin pumpkins have wire vines, embossed metal leaves and each has its own phrase, "Be Joyful," Be Thankful" and " Give Thanks." The pumpkins are 5 to 6 inches tall and can be arranged to your liking on the table. The cost of the Carved Thanksgiving Pumpkin Set is only $14.99.

To me Cornucopia's are an important part of Thanksgiving. I have seen them in many movies, pictures and tons of children's books. Using a Cornucopia as a Thanksgiving centerpiece would be very fitting and elegant and FTD has an excellent choice. The FTD Cornucopia is amazing. The horn-shaped basket if filled with bi-colored orange roses, sunflowers and burgundy carnations nestled among wheat and eucalyptus. Three sizes are available for this centerpiece and range from $49.99 to $69.99 in price.

Creating your own Thanksgiving centerpiece is always an option and simple to do. Here are a few great examples.

A lovely idea is to use a pumpkin as a vase. Cut off the top of a pumpkin and empty it out the same as you would at Halloween. Place a plastic basket inside the pumpkin and fill with flowers and greenery. Roses, wheat, cattails, yellow, bronze and orange chrysanthemums, eucalyptus, berries and leaves are always great choices. To add a little more, candles can always be added to the arrangement.

A very simple Thanksgiving center piece is a basket filled with pinecones and a variety of evergreens. Fill the bottom of the basket with the evergreens and place the pinecones on top in a nice pile. The amount of pinecones and evergreens you need will depend on the size basket you choose. Spray painting the pinecones gold or silver is another option for a touch more of elegance as is adding bows to your basket.
