Thanksgiving Cider Recipes

Apple Cider, Cranberry - Apple Cider, Spiced Cider, Honey-Lemon Cider

Renji Shino
Many places sell a mulled cider mix, or a cider spice mix, which makes the preparation of Thanksgiving cider to be quick and easy. These packages of spiced cider mix are great for travelers on the run, and can be prepared in a hotel room or dashboard coffee pot. However, for the home Thanksgiving feast, most of us find that the ideal cider is something we make at home.

Easy Spiced Cider

4 cups apple cider

1 cup water

1 cinnamon stick

4 cloves

Boil 1 cup of water, 4 cloves, and 1 cinnamon stick in a 2 quart pot, turn heat down to medium, add four cups of apple cider. Cover pot, allow mixture to heat for 30 minutes. Dip handled cups into mixture to serve, or ladle spiced cider into glasses.

Cranberry-Apple Cider

1 cup washed cranberries

4 cups apple cider

1 cup water

1 tablespoon honey or sugar

1/4 cup raisins

Cook above ingredients over medium heat in a covered saucepan for 30 minutes. Strain mixture into second saucepan, allowing cranberry-raisin mixture to remain in strainer (which may be served separately as a side dish). Dip handled cups into mixture to serve, or ladle spiced cider into glasses.

Apple Cider Gelatine Dessert

Take four packages of unflavored gelatin dessert mix, and heat up two cups of apple cider to boiling to add to the powder. Dissolve the mix with the apple cider. Add two cups of cold apple cider. Allow mixture to chill.

This may be decorated with apple slices as the mixture is chilling, or cinnamon and raisins.

Pomegranate cider is pretty tasty, too, sweetened with agave, which is like honey, however, is great for those who are allergic to honey.

Not able to stop third parties from misusing my email address for whatever purposes, have been locked out of accounts. Thanks, it was fun.
