What You Will Need:
Chipboard (cereal or soda boxes)
Craft glue
One pair of scissors
One number 2 pencil
Brass paper fasteners (available in office supply stores)
Black thread
One needle
Colored pencils
Small Poseable Thanksgiving Pilgrim
Print out the second Thanksgiving craft template image to your left. Click on "Enlarge," and right-click the picture and select "Save Picture As" to save it to your hard drive. Open the picture in your image processing or viewing software of choice. Select "Fit to Page" so that the template will print on a regular piece of paper.
Color the Pilgrim with colored pencils, or give the project to your kids to color. Refer to the first image for color suggestions. Glue the template to the inside of the chipboard boxes and allow to dry thoroughly. Then cut out the pieces of the Thanksgiving Pilgrim craft project. Poke two holes side by side everywhere there is a black dot. Check picture number one to see how the pieces should overlap.
With some thread and a needle, sew the separate pieces together. Take care not to break the bridge between the holes, as this will cause your Thanksgiving Pilgrim to fall apart. Use your Pilgrim to decorate a prominent area of your home or office.
Large Poseable Thanksgiving Pilgrim
Images three through five are for the large Thanksgiving Pilgrim craft project. You will need several cereal boxes to complete it. Try cutting the pieces apart on the template after coloring to ensure that the parts don't go over a seam in the cardboard.
Everywhere you see a black dot on the project make a hole with the hole punch. Use paper fasteners to put the Thanksgiving Pilgrim together. This larger project is great to hang in a door or window.
Additional Ideas for the Thanksgiving Pilgrim Craft Project
You can easily make accessories for your Pilgrim by drawing them on a piece of paper, coloring them and attaching them to some chipboard. For example, you can make a musket for him and then attach it to his hand. Do a Google image search to get ideas and find picture to use as a guide.
Pose your Thanksgiving Pilgrim craft project by taping his arms and legs where you want them to be.
