Spark the kid's imagination, have some fun, and productive time together creating these unique Thanksgiving crafts for kids and the family. All the craft ideas here are inexpensive and easily crafted with items found around the house or yard.

Paper Bag Turkey - This is a fun Thanksgiving craft idea. Take a large brown paper bag and draw a turkey profile on it with a crafting pen or pencil. Turkey profile templates are freely available at many kids crafting sites on the Internet. Print out the turkey profile template and color. Find a smaller bag and stuff with newspapers for the body. Tie one end of the bag shut with bright fall colored ribbons or yarn. Let the tied ends flare out a bit for the turkey tail. Glue the turkey head to the turkey body. Makes a great sitting turkey decoration.

Fall Leaves Placemat - This is a favorite kid's Thanksgiving craft idea. Gather a few fall leaves out of the yard. Wipe them clean and let them dry. This crafting idea requires two 12 by 12 sheets of clear contact paper. Take one 12 by 12 square of clear contact paper and place the leaves randomly around the paper. Make sure they are pressed in place against the contact paper. Now take the other sheet of contact paper and place carefully over the contact paper with the leaves. Press down over the bottom sheet. Make one for each member of the family and use as table place mats during Thanksgiving.

Pinecone Door Hangers - Take three pine cones and use craft wire to wire them together. Tie decorative ribbons around the top and hang or attach on a front door to greet guests.

Thanksgiving Basket - Find an old tree branch in the yard. Stick the tree branch in a large size flower pot that is filled with sand or rocks. Place the flower pot in a large basket or wrap the flower pot with decorative fall inspired wrapping paper. Gather a few fall leaves from the yard. Attach the leaves to the tree branch. Scatter a few acorns in the pot mixed with fall leaves. Add a few pinecone. Tie with bright fall inspired bows and sit the decorative basket in front of a large window or in the center of a table.

This Thanksgiving, try a few or all of the above Thanksgiving craft's projects.
