Thanksgiving Day Poem

Abby Greenhill
Thanksgiving Day is here my friend,
Its time to do it all again.
I'll buy the bird and all the rest,
To make this Turkey Day the best.

Start cooking the bird, that's the star,
I'll make real gravy, not the stuff from the jar.
Peel potatoes, prepare green beans and corn,
I bought some yams I could have sworn.

Set the table with Grandma's best dishes,
There will be toasts and best wishes.
Pumpkin pie with real whipped cream,
It's the prettiest pie I've ever seen.

All my guests have just arrived,
We'll be eating right around five.
Say hello, kisses and hugs all around,
Laughter and good cheer abound.

Place cards on the table with each person's name,
I am so glad everyone came.
Its time for the blessing, bow your heads and pray,
Then wish each other a Happy Thanksgiving Day!
