Thanksgiving with the Family

Stacy Hensley
The ghosts, ghouls and goblins are all put away.
It's time to get ready for Thanksgiving Day.

November is spent decorating in reds, golds, and browns.
Passing the time until turkey day rolls around.

Each of us give thanks for the blessings in our lives.
Then a family prayer is said before we bring out the knives.

The Thanksgiving turkey is carved with great care,
and passed all around for the family to share.

Each year we come together to relax and reminisce.
Sharing love, laughter, and stories of those that we miss.

Thanksgiving is a time for family and friends,
to spend quality time together before the holiday ends.
