Family, friends and delicious food,
Celebrated with a huge feast.
Where everyone indulges just a wee bit too much!
Roasted turkey is the star of the day,
Along with traditional dishes on this special day--
Cornbread dressing, stuffing, green bean casserole, yams with marshmallows.
Who can resist such magnificent food?
We eat until we can't hold any more.
And then we eat more when dessert comes around--
Pecan, pumpkin, sweet potato and cheery pie,
Spice cakes, chocolate cake and even a cheesecake or two.
The feast is finally over.
The turkey sits bare to the bone.
We are the ones stuffed now--
And ready for a nap!

I must admit, I have never stuffed myself at Thanksgiving or any holiday meal...it's all the other meals throughout the year when I do!
Well, that made me hungry!
