To Make Corn Husk Flowers You Will Need:

Dried corn husks

Ink or paint or stain

Scissors

Needle

Thread

To get started making your Thanksgiving napkin rings you will need to make your corn husk flowers. For a visual look at what I am about to describe you can check out my How to Make a Fabric Flower video here at AC. Just type it in the search box above.

Now, cut out three circles of the corn husk. Two large circles and four slightly smaller.

Use your scissors to scallop the edges. Fold each circle in half. Place the two large circles on the bottom.

Fold the smaller four circles in half. Stack them on top of the larger two circles. Overlap the four to make a pin wheel effect.

Sew this together or use hot glue. Sewing is always better.

Now, you need to paint your corn husk flower. I like to use ink or wood stain for this. Silk paint will also work very well.

Choose a fall color that will make your Thanksgiving napkin rings craft project pop on your dinner table.

Pain the thin paint or stain on the corn husks and allow this to dry.

Now, take one long corn husk and cut it to about six inches long. This can be ad wide as you want.

You can also paint or stain this corn husk as well.

Now, sew the corn husk flower in the middle of the long thin strip of corn husk. Of course you can also hot glue the flower, but you may risk it popping off.

Now, fold the long strip of corn husk in a loop to form the Thanksgiving napkin ring. Sew the ends together or glue them.

It is a good idea when making these thanksgiving napkin rings out corn husks to keep in mind whether you will be using fabric napkins, paper napkin or even dish towels as napkins on the dinner table.

Make the hole or loop of the Thanksgiving napkin ring large or small enough to for my stay on your napkin, but still be able to slide on and off.
