Here are two great Thanksgiving pecan pie recipes, a traditional pecan pie recipe and a chocolate pecan pie recipe. You can use a prepared pie crust or roll out your own. Both of these Thanksgiving pecan pie recipes are delicious and easy to make.

Thanksgiving Pecan Pie Recipes #1 - Traditional Pecan Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

3 Eggs

2/3 Cup Brown Sugar

2/3 Cup Butter

1 Cup Light Corn Syrup

2 Tablespoons Molasses

1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

2 Cups Pecan Halves

1 Pie Crust

Directions:

Place pecan halves on a plate and put into the microwave for about two minutes. Remove and keep about ten pecan halves aside. Chop the rest of the pecan halves into small pieces. Put aside. Melt butter in the microwave for about one minute just to get it softened. Beat eggs for one minute. Add brown sugar and mix well. Then add the butter, corn syrup, molasses, vanilla and salt. Beat the mixture for about a minute. Add the chopped pecans. Pour mixture into the pie crust. Place the ten pecan halves on top and push them into the pie mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes, longer if necessary.

Thanksgiving Pecan Pie Recipes #2 - Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe

Use the same recipe as for the traditional pecan pie recipe with these changes:

Substitute 2/3 sugar for the 2/3 brown sugar. Omit the 2 tablespoons molasses. Decrease the 2 cups pecan halves to 1 1/2 cups pecan halves. Add 1/2 cups chocolate chips when adding the chopped pecans.

If your want to make your own pie crust for either of these pecan pie recipes, here is an easy pie crust recipe to use:

Pie Crust for Thanksgiving Pecan Pie Recipes:

1 Cup Flour

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

1/4 Cup Butter

1/4 Shortening

1/4 -1/8 Cup Water

Place butter in the microwave for about 45 seconds to soften. Mix butter and shortening together. Mix flour and the salt together. Then combine both of the mixtures. Add water a little at a time.
