Sailing through election year waters quite murky

A VP wannabe attacked in a tone that was perky

when it comes to quality of living

a huge reason for Thanksgiving

just be thankful we didn't elect the turkey!

Take that last line however you choose

it was written in sort of a spirit of muse

all I know is when shove came to push

the country couldn't take anymore Bush

with any change the nation couldn't lose

Give me lots of turkey, please hold the dressing

sweet potatoes, rolls and pumpkin pie are more pressing

it goes down better with cranberry sauce

if you don't partake, it's your loss

until the 27th on these things I'm obsessing

For this Holiday, blessing is the word

especially to the cows in the herd

while the butterball bakes

hopefully the only pardon Bush makes

is the one involving a bird!
