Thanksgiving Recipe Guide: Pepperidge Farms Product Review

Bread Crumbs, Crackers, Cookies, Cakes

Pepperidge Farms is one of the oldest names in commercial breads and baked goods. And there is a very good reason this: natural, quality ingredients. For the best Thanksgiving recipes, use Pepperidge Farms products. Pepperidge Farms carries a complete line of crackers, cookies and baked goods. One of my favorite Pepperidge Farms products is their stuffing croutons and bread cubes for stuffing. If I don't have time to cube my bread and dry them ahead of time, a bag of Pepperidge Farms bread crumbs works great.

The biggest reason that I prefer Pepperidge Farms products is that they are one of the few bread and baked goods companies that uses unbleached flour in their products. As a mom and preschool/ day care provider, I am always looking for great healthy snacks. Day care programs that receive federal funding, for example, are mandated to use the Sunshine Cheez-it brand snack crackers because they contain real cheese and have four grams of protein per serving. I did a little more research and discovered that while Pepperidge Farms Goldfish crackers have one less gram of protein, they are made with unbleached flour, no hydrogenated fats and no artificial coloring. I like that.

And what about those divine Pepperidge Farms Distinctive Cookies? Those dark chocolate and raspberry Milanos, or Tahiti with macadamia nuts, Geneva, Verona, and all the other fabulously delicious cookie varieties? There's a reason why they are $3.39 for a seven ounce package. They are made with natural ingredients, that's why. The ingredients list on Pepperidge Farms cookies reads like a homemade cookie recipe: butter, eggs, unbleached flour, vanilla, fresh nuts, pure chocolate chips. My personal favorite Pepperidge Farm cookie is Chessmen butter cookies. Each cookie is stamped with a chess playing piece; biting into one is like tasting buttery fresh bliss. Puts those other 'butter' cookies and shortbreads to shame. A bag of Chessmen, a cup of espresso, an Agatha Christie and a warm blanket and I'm a happy girl.

Oh, Pepperidge Farms makes a great Filo dough for your Greek recipes also. My daughter makes a mean pan of Baklava with Pepperidge Farm Filo dough. Be sure to try Pepperidge Farm products this Thanksgiving and holiday season. For more on great foods, visit me at www.greatfood4u.blogspot.com .

I purchase 3-day-old Pepperidge Farms wheat bread for a buck a loaf at our local farmers market. I toast it, cut it up and use it for stuffing. Yummmmm! Thanks for all your wonderful ideas.
