Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipes

Recipes Everyone Will Enjoy on Turkey Day

Robin Vinci
Before you cook Thanksgiving dinner stuffing, find out who is coming to dinner. Is anyone allergic to nuts? Do some people like it spicy? These fit just about everyone but choose the one you think will fit your guests taste. I particularly enjoy the Walnut Stuffing.

Old Fashioned Stuffing

1/2 cup butter

1 large onions, diced

2 stalks celery, diced

1 large carrot, diced

8 cups bread crumbs

2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley

1 tablespoon sage

1 teaspoon thyme

Dash salt

Dash black pepper

3/4 cup turkey broth

Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add onions, celery and carrot and cook about 10 minutes Add bread crumbs and mix well, then add spices. Mix in broth and fluff gently to moisten. Put into turkey cavity.

Walnut Stuffing

1 pound walnut pieces

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

3 tablespoons butter

2 medium onions, diced

1 lbs white mushrooms, chopped

1-16 ounce bag herb stuffing mix

Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake walnut pieces in oven 6-8 minutes. In skillet, heat oil and butter until hot. Add onions stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned.

In a large bowl stir walnuts, mushroom mixture and stuffing mix. Add butter and liquid according to package directions. Mix everything well and stuff into turkey.

Bread Stuffing

30 slices white bread, toasted

3 tablespoons butter

1 large onion, chopped

2 stalks celery, chopped

2 eggs

2 1/2 cups chicken or turkey broth

2 teaspoons sage

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste
Let toast sit until hard. Crush into bread crumbs and put in large bow. Melt butter in saucepan and add onion and celery. Cook about 5 minutes. Mix eggs and chicken/turkey broth. Mix in onion, celery, sage, garlic powder and salt & pepper. Stuff in turkey or bake in dish for one hour at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
