Thanks,Mom

There is only one day assigned each year to honor her but that surely is not enough.

Her job continues daily and sometimes gets pretty tough.

Only a Mother can relate to the anticipation of a new life entering her world.

Her heart fills with joy no matter if it's to be a boy or a girl.

This may be followed by nausea, fatigue and clothes becoming too small.

As the months go by she has a beautiful glow on her face but she probably can't see her feet at all.

Okay, so now it's time.

The moment is finally here.

A few short hours of labor,( maybe long hours). But then that brand new person will suddenly appear.

To each new Mother that little face is the most beautiful she has ever seen.

Now she'll count fingers and toes.

Yes, her baby is just perfect.

Right down to the cute button nose.

Now comes the midnight feedings, but Mom is only half asleep.

She always sleeps with one eye open in case baby makes a peep.

Mom gets tired but doesn't complain.

She sees her child grow so fast.

The first steps, the first words and she forgets any pain of the past.

The role of a Mother is definitely not an easy one but one that requires patience each step of the way.

So, here's to you, Mom.

Love and honor and "happy Mother's Day" each and every day!!
