And asks if my homework is done
It wonders if I am prepared for Monday
I used to worry before the week had begun
It is funny how that feeling returns
Even though my schooling days are through
It tries to sabotage the week ahead
Making me fret about commitments and projects due
I have learned to face and diffuse the worry
I take a deep breath and I look around
There are no teachers standing in my office
Disappointed or ready to lay the punishment down
So, come on Sunday-night-homework feeling
I am ready to face the week ahead
I will do my best and take one moment at a time
I will smile at the new day and not face it with dread

Post a CommentThat's one way of looking at it. lol Well-written.
Sigh, similar situation here. Sunday evening always comes around so quickly these days.
I really DO get that "homework" feeling at AC, what with completing assignments, reading articles and writing comments. It's fun!
I am okay with deadline as long as I know I can make them, I never wait until the last minute
But what a wonderful feeling on Friday!
Wow...I can surely take a lesson from this one Donna. But of course you ALWAYS are right on time, with just the right message, remember I told you. SEE! God bless and thank you. Needed this just at this moment. Boy, are you connected with the Man upstairs! LOL
It's funny, I still feel so tied to the school schedule, despite being an adult with no kids--I feel more like the year starts in September than in January! Guess we never grow completely out of it :)
I still have this feeling sometimes, too. I like your attitude!
Very well said!
Yes, when I worked, I remember this feeling preparing for Monday morning!
