That Sea Faring Man

A Nautical Poem

Bridgitte Williams

That good trip.

To your ship.

As you cast away.

Do you see today?

Or far, far away?

The land fades.

Is someone waiting?

For your landing?

The sea is a mistress.

The ocean is always restless.

Barnacles, ahoys, waves, lighthouse lights.

Starry silent so quiet nights.

And in the hush, do you stare?

Someone thinks of you, do you care?

That sea faring man.

He travels as far as he can.
