Of stringing beans, and picking peaches and dominoes for play.
I remember grandma's kitchen and steamy apple pies,
With new potatoes, roast beef or turkey, "Let's pray first, close your eyes!"
I remember grandma's apron with pockets that were filled
With handkerchiefs and candy treats when brother took a spill.
I remember grandma's bonnets for working in the sun,
And one for church with net and bows; that was the special one!
I remember grandma's garden, where beneath the cherry tree,
We'd sit for hours in the flowers; with grandma drinking tea!
Return to grandma's garden, with aprons, hats and tea;
To have a party there again and be that "Special Me"!
