That Time of Year Again

C. Moss
Start the oven for the best food around

December has finally arrived

Christmastime is like no other time

It is a time for joy and for giving

Bring on the snow, it wouldn't be complete without it

I wake up with a smile plastered on my face

And I am reduced to my youth all over again

Opening gifts can be fun at any age

It's nice to know that the people around you care

Just don't forget to give something special back

The music carols are blaring loudly from the speakers

Even the radio stations get into the Christmas spirit

You've been waiting for this day all year long

The same traditions replaying over and over

Yet, deja vu has never felt better

Present time has been made perfectly clear

Unwrapping gifts as fast as your heart is beating

Pretty bows reflecting of what's to come

Wrapping paper so bright and colorful

The love you share will only grow from here on out

Finally, the food is ready

The smells are intoxicating and mouth watering

You make your you get your favorites on your plate

I'll have two or more helpings; that's more than my share

And everyone is smiling, giving, and receiving

Here's a toast to next year
