Thawing Bigfoot Reveals Costume, Confirms Hoax

Martina
An independent Bigfoot researcher has finally had a look at the supposed dead Bigfoot in the freezer this weekend, and guess what? It's a fake; a hoax. It's a rubber costume. This, according to a press release this morning at SearchingforBigfoot.com, which was subsequently reported at FoxNews.

Steve Kulls was brought in by SearchingforBigfoot.com owner Tom Biscardi to examine the Bigfoot corpse in Georgia. The first thing Kulls did, naturally, was to start thawing the body. Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer sold the Bigfoot corpse to Biscari for an 'undisclosed sum,' and have now dropped out of sight. Probably a wise idea, since Bigfoot enthusiasts everywhere are going to be steaming mad when they see what the Bigfoot 'evidence' really is.

As the Bigfoot in the freezer thawed this weekend and some hair was exposed the first blow fell. Kulls pulled off a piece of hair and lit it. It melted into a ball like plastic. As he says in his statement: "uncharacteristic of hair."

Next he set up a heater and before long there were actual body parts exposed. Again, from Kulls' press release: "Within the next hour of thaw, a break appeared up near the feet area. As the team and I began examining this area near the feet, I observed the foot which looked unnatural, reached in and confirmed it was a rubber foot."

So, it's over. How much profit Whitton, Dyer and Biscari have made off of their hoax and the concomitant media frenzy isn't known. Loren Coleman's Crypotmundo.com website is still down and people who are still serious about trying to find Bigfoot have to be more than a little discouraged.

In an article in the Edmonton Journal, Jeff Meldrum Phd, who is conducting field research on Bigfoot, and who's titles include Associate Professor of Anatomy and Anthropology at Idaho State University and Affiliate Curator at the Idaho Museum of Natural History had this to say: "People who are not well-informed on this subject matter then use this incident as a litmus test of the veracity of the entire subject."

The hoax has certainly resulted in a loss of innocence as far as Bigfoot claims go. Future Bigfoot evidence is going to face a lot more skepticism. That could be a good thing, as it will make the media less susceptible to Bigfoot hoaxes. But the down side will be for people who might have legitimate evidence, who's honest claims are going to face an uphill battle in a more hoax inoculated public.

The policeman is losing his job over this stunt.

Thanks for this, it was nicely informative. But seriously, they had to bring in an expert to discover that it was a RUBBER SUIT? If I didn't know better, I would have thought I was reading an article on The Onion.

Sad and to think millions were apparent duped or at least much too involved with the topic...this during a time when we didn't know if another Cold War was looming. The photo and circumstances were laughable from the start.
