The 10 Worst Beach Location Movies Ever

Angie Tabor
10. Ford of the Flies (1990) - I remember being excited to go see this film having read the book. The film was a big disappointment with a forgettable cast. The book was more dramatic.
9. Beaches (1988) - Two friends meet on a beach as children, go their separate ways then return to the beach as one of them dies. Bette Midler did fantastic in the movie but it was still boring and depressing.
8. Revenge of the Nerds II (1987) - Nerdy Gilbert and friends battle the Alpha Beta fraternity during Spring Break. There are some funny moments with characters Booger and Lamar but the humor is geared towards adolescent boys.
7. Spring Break (1983) - The stereotypical D-rated beach movie. No real plot just a couple of college dudes who get stuck with nerds at the beach. A typical movie filled with blond bimbos, beer and boobs.
6. Sizzle Beach U.S.A. (1986) - A movie that Kevin Costner tried to hide for years. I understand way. It has a bad plot and is on the cusp of soft core porn.
5. Cut Throat Island (1995) - Remember this Geena Davis movie? I didn't think so, enough said.
4. Pirates (1982) - Christopher Atkins, straight from his role in The Blue Lagoon, goes for the swashbuckling effect and fails miserably. There is lots of bad singing in the movie. Yes, a pirate musical that made me want to vomit in my popcorn bucket.
3. Swept Away (2002) - A movie showing why Madonna flourished as a singer. Her acting is bad, playing a snobby rich woman who gets stranded on a deserted island with a young Italian stud. I was prepared for two hours of excitement but instead it made me snore.
2. Beach Kings (2008) - A movie that makes me wonder why they even made it. A bunch of no talent buff dudes in a volleyball grand slam. Yes, volleyball.
1. Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991) - A sequel to The Blue Lagoon (1980) and a lesson in don't tamper upon something that already works. A lousy remake to a great lousy movie. The sequel begins with original characters Richard and Emmeline being found dead in a rowboat. As fate should have it, their offspring named Richard, gets shipwrecked and stranded on the same island as a child with a young girl named Lily. Thus, beginning a copy-cat plot with undeveloped actors.
