Looking for a special gift idea that sets you apart as parents? Giving kids the series of the 12 days of Christmas will instill memories of this wonderful season and make you the talk of the town in the gift department. Below is the entire 12 days spelled out for you with a saying for each tag that goes with the gift.

Twelve days before Christmas Eve you'll begin this series of gifts. The first gift is a dozen holiday pencils tied in a bow. Make sure they are #2 pencils so they can be used at school. If your kids are under 5 then you may want to use giant crayons instead. You'll want to get a little gift card that says the following: "Merry Christmas (child's name)! For the next 12 days you will be receiving the number of gifts represented by how many days we are away from Christmas Eve. Today is the beginning of your holiday journey and I have chosen these 12 fun pencils as they remind me of what a creative child you are."

Eleven days before Christmas Eve send the following: Eleven candy canes tied in a ribbon of white or red. For the tag you'll want it to say "These candy canes remind me of the way you hooked me with your sweetness the day you were born."

Ten days before give your child a $10 Gift Card to their favorite restaurant. McDonald's gift dollars are perfect because they actually represent items as well. This tag will read "Today you need to relax and take in the fun of McDonalds on me. You can get your wiggles out in the play land too!" If it's for an older child consider Starbucks for hot chocolates or any other restaurant like Red Robin and just leave out the play land comment.

Nine days before give them 9 Hershey's kisses. Have them in a little basket or something cute for presentation. For the note you'll write "These kisses are from Mom and Dad - when you get too old for kisses we'll be really sad!"

Eight days before give eight ornaments that represent things they like to do. For instance, if your son plays basketball then a Santa playing basketball by Hallmark is a great choice. This way they know that you're thinking of them when you buy them. The tag will read "Adorning my tree with memories of thee."

Seven days before give them seven decorated Christmas cookies. You can substitute with cupcakes if you like or other tasty treats as long as they match and are decorated appropriately. The tag should read "These tasty treats remind me of how "baked" our family is. Don't eat them all at once!

Six days before give him a six pack of his favorite beverage (soda or beer or even waters). The tag will read "Drink in the sights and smells of the holiday and take time to celebrate!"

Five days before get him five packs of gum in a variety of flavor. If you know he needs sugar free than purchase that. I try to pick a minty flavor, bubble gum, and other fun flavor and types for variety in presentation. The tag will read "In any sticky situation you can always rely on me."

Four days before get him a small box of chocolates. Sees and Whitman's usually have the little four packs at the grocery or dime store in your area or you can purchase samplers online. The tag should read "My life is richer than a box of chocolates because you are in it."

Three days before give your child three video games or movies for boys or three lip glosses for girls. The tag will read: "Three Wiseman saw the star that night; these games will make your free time bright." (Girls change the end to these lip glosses will make your lips bright)

Two days before give a pair of slippers. SpongeBob or other character slippers are fun and something different. Dearfoams are a favorite and hold up really well. The tag will read "I hope these slippers warm your heart as well as your feet."

One day before (actually on Christmas Eve) give your child a large gift they've had on their list. If you allow them to open a gift on Christmas Eve night this is the perfect way to finish your 12 days. The tag should read "The children were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads. Santa has been watching and you have been good, enjoy this present that was on your list - Santa said you would!"
