Leesburg, Virginia --Warm weather near eighty greeted 35,000 visitors to the 18th Annual Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival Saturday in the downtown streets of this busy, small town located 20 minutes from Dulles International Airport.

All 35,000 people were smiling and having fun as they walked through the streets looking at flowers, landscaping, and architectural renderings. A band played on the courthouse porch and mothers and fathers with children rested on the courthouse lawn. "Hey, where's Andy? Anybody seen Andy? Andy Griffith?"

"Did someone say 'president?'"

"Yes, Andy for President. Andy Griffith in 2008. Jump on the gazebo and vote for Andy!"

"Andy Griffith for President!"

"Hey, it makes sense. He's been hiding in Hollywood all this time, and now he's coming back to Mayberry."

"Andy Griffith?"

"Yes."

" He's too old."

"But he's very young at heart."

Will Andy Griffith emerge from the undergrowth and claim his rightful position in the White House?

That's why we've got John McCain. We don't want America to fall into the doldrums of Mayberry. We want it to remain solvent and viable. Actually, all of this is being said by the current narrator, and I speak for all of America when I say. "You can get the best cookies and cakes in Virginia at Lola's Cookies and Treats at 109 South King Street in Leesburg. VA. Barack Obama should be so lucky as to enjoy one of Lola's sweet shredded coconut cupcakes. Why Hilary Clinton would no doubt go for one of Lola's chocolate ginger cookies. Personally, I had one of the coconut cupcakes and an 8 oz. bottle of Coke, and I must say the cupcake was succulent and delicious. I think Lola may be on to something there by baking the best cookies and treats in Virginia. I think I'll tell Andy Griffith.

The event continued Sunday, but it rained and so the Pope wasn't able to stop by and bless everyone.
