The 1990s was one of the most popular decades for pro-wrestling, especially the WWE. With competition from WCW, the WWE amped up its roster and provided fans with memorable characters and storylines that changed the WWE forever. Here is a look at some of the best WWE wrestlers from the 1990s.

Hulk Hogan: Hogan was a mainstay in the WWe for the 1980s, but he continued his fame and glory throughout the 1990s as well. He remained with the WWE until 1993, but he jumped ship to WCW in 1994 where his popularity grew even more. He built the company up in feuds with Ric Flair, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and Sting as he formed the "N.W.O." and changed wrestling forever.

Shawn Michaels: The 1990s saw Shawn Michael's famous break-up with Marty Jennetty and the "Rockers". On his own, the "Heartbreak Kid" proved he had what it takes to be the best and he rose quickly through the WWE ranks. At Wrestlemania XII, he achieved his goal and became WWE champion for the first time.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin: Arguably one of the most popular superstars of all-time, Austin has his name in many record books. He has won multiple Royal Rumbles, multiple Wrestlemania main events and feuded with talent like Bret Hart, The Rock, the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and several others. He defines the WWE Attitude era and will always be an essential part of the WWE.

The Undertaker: Survivor Series 1990 marked the debut of the Undertaker and a WWE roster staple for years to come. The Undertaker is one of the most celebrated wrestlers in WWE history and throughout all of his years with the company he has changed so many aspects of it. The creation of matches (casket, hell in a cell, buried alive), Wrestlemania victories (undefeated for over 15 Wrestlemania matches), and classic feuds have all made the Undertaker one of the most developed and fan loved stars in the WWE.

Bret "The Hitman" Hart: One of the most controversial WWE matches has been the Montréal incident. That ended Hart's WWE career in 1997, but the years prior to that were some of the best in the WWE. Hart showcased some of the best pure wrestling skills and the Hart Foundation is one of the best stables in WWE history.

The Rock: The "People's Champ" was the pure opposite of Steve Austin and this is one reason why these two worked off of each other so well. Their classic Wrestlemania feud is one of the best and his leadership in the Nation of Domination helped make him one of the best bad guys in pro-wrestling history.
