Are you pregnant? How would you know if you really are? The signs of pregnancy during your first week are not yet visible. However, if you have a regular cycle of menstruation, just a one day missed period would alarm you and hint you of your pregnancy status.

The following are some of the signs that a woman would likely to experience when pregnant:

  • Morning sickness

Your stomach will feel certain aversion to foods and you will feel like sick every morning.

  • Frequent Urination

You will have frequent urination but with only little amount of urine is released

  • Soreness and sudden change in the color of your breasts

You will feel like your breasts are somewhat sore and sensitive. They will also change their color from pink to dark brown.

  • Feeling of exhaustion

You will easily feel tired even if you are a physically active person.

  • Dramatic mood swings

You can not understand the sudden changes in your moods and your pregnancy explains why.

  • Frequent Gas and constipation

Visit your doctor regularly to know more of the appropriate foods for you especially if you are experiencing frequent gas release and constipation.

After being aware of your conception, the next thing you would want to know is the arrival of the baby. Even if you are just a week or a month's time pregnant, you are surely excited to know when your delivery date is.

Expected Delivery Date (EDD) is calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period. You will start the counting from that Day 1 to complete your 40 week pregnancy count. Thus, your last menstrual period is included in the counting though the baby is not yet conceived by that time.

A nine period conception is quite long and having your womb as the temporary nest of your baby, you should at least prepare your body for a more comfortable room to stay. Suppose you are in a hotel suite, surely you would want the luxury room where your stay would be great right!

The following are the tips on what to do to give your child a comfy stay inside your body.

  • Visit your doctor regularly and be a good patient

Make sure you visit your ob - gynecologist regularly and take the vitamins your doctor prescribes. They know best.

  • Avoid alcoholic drinks, drugs and tobacco products

Keep yourself away from drugs, alcohols and tobacco products. They are not healthy for your baby.

  • Maintain a desirable diet containing sufficient vitamins especially folic acid

Adequate folic acid intake reduces the risk of neural tube defects such as spinal bifida. Neural tube defects are birth defects caused by immature development of the brain or spinal cord of the baby.

Being pregnant is the most rewarding part of being a woman. A lot of woman who are not able to bear child in their wombs are developing such insecurities and inferiority complex. Therefore, be thankful for being blessed given the opportunity of having a baby! Congratulations and welcome to the nurturing world of moms!
