The 2008 National Lacrosse Season is Back!

Lacrosse is back! The National Lacrosse league isn't sure when it will start, how many games will be played or even if all of the teams will play, but the 2008 season is on. The National Lacrosse League season was saved Thursday October 25, 2007 when the board of governors endorsed a new seven-year collective bargaining agreement with the Professional Lacrosse Players' Association.

The previous three-year collective bargaining agreement had expired in July. As of last week, no agreement between the league and the association could be reached before the October 15 deadline so the governors of the 14 teams decided to cancel the season. However, negotiations began once again and the Professional Lacrosse Players' Association accepted the new National Lacrosse League proposal Wednesday October 24, 2007 and the board of governors unanimously approved it.

The new agreement will last for seven years so it has the players playing through the 2014 season, but either side will have the option to opt out after five seasons. The 2007 season was originally supposed to begin on December 27th; however, a new schedule will be released this week. Teams will still start practice in November.

Sounds very interesting to say the least. Only time will tell on how well it will do.

There used to be a lacrosse team in Orange County. I went to alot of games and they were really fun. I'd love to see it come back. Thanks for the info.
