The 2009 ACM Awards Show will be taking place on Sunday night, April 5th at 8pm Eastern and Pacific on CBS. The show will be delayed on the West Coast to allow a primetime viewing, so stay off the internet if you don't want to see the list of 2009 ACM Winners. The 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards will be taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be hosted by country music icon Reba McEntire. It's a good chance for Reba to plug the first single from her new album (Strange) and will be the 11th time that McEntire has been the host of the ACM Awards.

The 2009 ACM Awards will have quite a few performances on the schedule, with the Academy of Country Music advertising that the top acts expected to perform are Lady Antebellum, Miley Cyrus, Jamey Johnson, Reba McEntire, John Rich, and Lee Ann Womack. Previously, the ACM had announced that performing at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards would also be Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Heidi Newfield, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, and Taylor Swift. It is an extremely good line-up for fans of country music, and will quickly make this an ACM Awards show that nobody will want to miss.

Host Reba McEntire is back to not only host and perform, but accept a nomination for Vocal Event of the Year in a duet she did with Brooks & Dunn. In her career, McEntire has already won twelve Academy of Country Music Awards, and continues to have a very successful career in country music. The nominees for ACM Album of the Year were already announced as well, with a list of 5 albums making the cut. Nominated for the 2009 ACM Album of the Year are artists Montgomery Gentry, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Jamey Johnson, and George Strait, all of whom bring different styles and genres of country music to the table. It will really be interesting to see who takes the title, and if cross-over superstar Taylor Swift can get the nod.

Some of the 2009 ACM Award winners have already been released, consisting of a few categories that won't be making the live broadcast on Sunday night. The 2009 ACM winners that were already announced are Julianne Hough, who won Top New Female Vocalist, Jake Owen, who won Top New Male Vocalist, and Zac Brown Band, who won the Top New Vocal Duo or Group. All talented musicians, they will be joined by a host of other country music stars when the rest of the 2009 ACM awards list is revealed live on the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards telecast.

I actually missed the show -- we went out to eat and then grocery shopping. I got home to see the last two awards. Hoping CMT will rerun it :)

What is the name of the new song that Sugarland sang last night at the AMC awards show?
