One of the events Denver, Colorado holds annually in order to celebrate Columbus Day is the Columbus Day Parade. This year, the Columbus Day Parade will be held on Saturday October 10th and will start at approximately 10am. The parade will begin at the intersection of 15th Street and Court Place and will end at 14th Street and Broadway.
This year, several contests will take place before and during the parade as well. For instance, you may nominate the Parade King and Queen, the Italian of the Year, the Parade Starter, and the Grand Marshall. During the parade, there will be a float contest as well as a best T-shirt design contest. You may nominate individuals to win Parade King and Queen, Grand Marshall, Italian of the Year, and Parade Starter by visiting this website and clicking on, ""Parade Nominations," on the left-hand side of the page.
After the parade is over, there will also be a post-parade celebration. The celebration will be held at the Potenza Lodge Hall, located at: 1900 W. 38th Avenue. Beer, soft drinks, and sausage sandwiches will be served at the celebration. You may also browse the Italian store and purchase Italian cheese, salami, and novelties. In addition, you may enter to win a raffle to win a prize of $1,000. The winner will be chosen at the post-parade celebration at 3pm. You may buy tickets in advance on-line, at the parade, or at the post-parade celebration. To buy tickets on-line, please visit the Denver Columbus Day Parade website here.
