OK, so when it comes to the business of sexy, how does this car do against the Maserati? Well, I'd say the Maserati is more elegant, but I find it hard to choose between the two, which for this article, I plan to. First of all, the Maserati GT is a coupe, and the Fisker Karma is a sedan. And that's a plus for Maserati already. But don't be so sure, because the Karma looks so much like a coupe, that it actually looks really good! I like how they incorporated style and performance into a four door sports saloon. And because it's a four-door, it's more practical, and that's a plus for Fisker. The Fisker does look kind of clumsy at some angles, while the Maserati is flawless. Another plus for the Italian beauty.
Here's a big one though - performance. The Karma travels from 0 to 60 in 6 seconds, and will do 125 mph top speed. Very poor, considering the car looks like it will take on the Bugatti Veyron. Another plus for the Maserati! This is disappointing, to say the least because it was looking like a real performance car, and all it turned out to be is a Prius in a fancy dress, and that's not very cool! If you want an electric car that does 50 miles on a full charge, get the Tesla Roadster - you'll have better performance. If you want something slow and hybrid, get the Fisker, but you won't last much longer on a full charge of battery. Thank goodness there's an engine that will keep the car going when the battery is dead. Too bad it's not the engine that you would expect out of a car as long as the Karma.
So, it's time for a verdict - which is sexier? And my answer is the Maserati. It just looks better, performs better, and it is an actual car! It might cost more to buy, and to run, and might be less practical, but it's a true sports car. The Fisker Karma is just good looking car, but no performance to back up the looks.
I will concede, though, that the Karma is a better technological achievement than the Maserati GT. It's full of futuristic stuff, and even has a solar panel on the roof! The interior is a really nice place, full of gadgets and computers and stuff. But still, I'm not buying it yet. I'm sure if Fisker decides to build another car, it'll be even more futuristic and more advanced, but right now, as it is, it's not enough to win my heart. The way I see it is, this car is made for a few certain type of people - the ones who don't care about speed, as long as they do 100 mpg, the ones that want to look more sophisticated than they are, and for nerds. Not to mention the blondes from Hollywood.
