The 2010 Winter Olympics Looked like Heaven

The Kingdom of God is Seen in the Winter Olympics 2010

Weren't the XXI Winter Olympics just wonderful this year? We had heartache when the sled rider met his death, but we also laughed, cried, cheered and watched in awe as the competitors performed their best to win the medals that were their rewards. But we Christians are too running the race that is set before us everyday of our lives. Our reward is someday seeing the Lord face to face. As we will be with Him forever in Eternity we hold fast to the path that is set before us, not swaying to the right or to the left. And what Glory we will see. The Almighty God on His throne, with Jesus Our Savior as the light that shines brightly as the sun, and in Him there is no darkness. We can behold His Glory. We cast our crowns at His feet in triumphant Glory that we have finished the race and we are for evermore with Him. And the family of the Lord unites together as we will in the city of our God.

As I was watching the Games on TV, God began to compare those Games and the ceremonies as a type of the Kingdom of Heaven, even here on earth, with the perfection of the competition and beautiful surroundings in the ever- burning fire, and the unity of thought and direction. It all came together as the Excellence of God.

The entire Olympic city in Vancouver is one with a certain membership, as everyone is blessed to be in the community. The entire town was expertly built especially for the contestants and their families. The competitors themselves work and work, sacrificing everything for their chosen sport, to be recognized as the best of the best. Their aim is to achieve the Gold, Silver, or Bronze reward for all their expertise.

Many gave up friends and homelands, went through physical and mental pain in order to compete. They sacrificed their time, and we're talking years of their lives, and many often confessed that they really did nothing else but practice and perfect themselves for years. If they can do that for a sport, how much more should we be able to sacrifice everything to be closer to our God, our Jesus? He is our Prize; He delights in giving us the desires of our hearts and nothing is impossible with Him and you. And I'm not much, but I trust in Him, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the one who Loves me sooo much that I am called the 'apple of His eye.' This is who we shall be with, when the race is won, when the fire gets dim here on Earth and the Gold metal winners head to the front to encircle the Fire of the ceremony.

Stick with it my Brothers and Sisters.......Don't let the things of this world get you down so that you can't get back up! Run the Race! There is Victory in the Name of Jesus, and if you continue to live and move and have your very being with Him, He will extend your days, take you to the mountain tops and sing songs over you while you sleep. He is our refreshment.......our downhill snow run and our snowboarding in the curl....He has our best interests at heart and He opens that heart to include the Glory of His Name.

We will all get into the stadium for the closing ceremony if we have the password. That password is the 'Son of the most High' that is stamped on your heart. If you have gotten the Word, then the medal is yours to keep and let all the winners come in! Make your sacrifice and let's go collect the reward......it will all be the Blessing and with the Love of the Father. You cannot lose!

I spent years traveling and investigating Life........ I now live in a small beach town on the East Coast, only by the Grace of God and the winds of change that are continually blowing around me.  View profile
