Chicago loss the chance to host the 2016 Olympic games. I think that would have meant the world for Chicago.

Chicago was all geared up to win and was very disappointed when they lost. Chicago just knew they had it but, I think it was never forgotten that Chicago had a problem with how they're going to host the games. The tax payers was wondering how these games were going to be paid for. That could have been one of the reasons why Chicago got voted out in the first round, like right away. You can't say how something so big is going to be paid for and expect to win it.

It also could have been that we had to many celebrities backing us like Oprah Winfrey, Barrack Obama, Major Daley, Michelle Obama, and others, the other countries did not have all these famous peoples behind them. Chicago anticipated to much.

Yes it would have been great for Chicago but, Chicago wanted it for all the wrong reasons I think. Could they have really paid for it without the taxpayers money? Chicago is having ruff times thanks to the economy. The games could have been more than they could chew, just to get the recognition for the first time Olympic games in Chicago.

It was properly a good thing that Chicago did not win the bid because their not financially ready to host such an event. I think that we'll most likely be ready next time around in 2020, by than the recession will most definitely be over and Chicago will be back to normal and in the position to host such an event.

But, that is such a long time away. Chicago never gives up hope for winning anything huge. Just like the fact that we still have hope for winning the Cubs, and the White Sox's world series games. Or, even a Chicago Bears Football game. We never give up on hope for our city because we know it can happen, it just wasn't our time.

You can't blame a city for trying and hoping that's one of the things that makes us so strong is that we never give up hoping that we'll win a game or an event. The Olympic games will be back in the future and we'll be ready.

We will win it, it's just not our time. The judges properly got the wrong impression about Chicago. This is a first for Rio De Janeiro in South America and it will be the first for Chicago whenever we have the chance to host the games.
