I love to eat ribs that are dripping with mouth-watering sauce. But put some barbeque chicken in front of me and I am in heaven. Well lets not waste anymore time. Here is the list of the 4 Best Barbeque Restaurants in Atlanta.
Fat Matt's Rib Shack 1811 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30324
(404)-607-1622 http://www.fatmattsribshack.com/
No list of barbeque restaurants in Atlanta would be complete without Fat Matt's. This is Atlanta's number one destination for ribs, beer and music.
The food is absolutely the best tasting barbeque in the midtown area bar none. The sauce is unique and wet. The meat is cooked to a smoky perfection and the service is great.
This barbeque restaurant reminds me of a cafeteria. You enter into a line that overlooks the kitchen and you can watch as the staff prepares your meal.
You then proceed to a picnic style tables were you immediately start eating and conversing with whomever you are seated. This is what I call Atlanta style and is popular in other types of restaurants as well.
The menu is easy they have ribs, chicken and pork or a combo of your choice. How easy is that? Then just pick your sides and a drink and you are on your way to nirvana.
Easy to get to but parking can be tough at lunch or dinner. Try and go slightly later like 1:30pm for lunch as an example.
Swallow at the Hollow 1072 Green Street, Roswell, Georgia 30075
(678)-352-1975 http://theswallowatthehollow.com/
If you like live country music with your barbeque then Swallow at the Hollow is the place for you. Up and coming singers from Nashville occupy this barbeque restaurant and the food is excellent. Try the pork sandwich. It is enough for two and is great with their homemade barbeque sauce.
Swallow at the Hollow is a great place with a huge dining hall and an outside picnic area were they host live music and barbeque on Thursday evenings, weather permitting.
The menu is adorned with homemade goodies like buttermilk biscuits, macaroni and cheese, bread and butter pickles, etc. So for a country barbeque night you can't do better then The Swallow at the Hollow.
Plenty of parking but be sure you bring a map because it is located on a back road that only the locals know, Green Street.
Williams Bros Bar-B-Q 1425 Roswell Road, Marietta, Georgia 30062 (770)-971-3201 http://www.williamsonbros.com/index.html
If the sauce is what turns your taste buds upside down then Williams Bros Bar-B-Q is were you want to go. You will enjoy the sauce so much you will be tempted to take it home. But don't worry about loading up the pick-up truck with cases of the delicious sauce because it's bottled for sale so you can find it in the local grocery stores.
The menu is exceptional as it has all the barbeque favorites but it also has catfish sandwich, Buffalo wings, grilled cheese, polish sausage, etc. So if its sauce and variety you want stop by and try some of the best barbeque in Atlanta at Williams Bros. Bar-B-Q.
Conviently located with lots of parking.
Old Hickory House, 5490 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, Georgia, 30338, (770)-671-8185 http://www.oldhickoryhouse.com/
I have eaten a lot of breakfast in this barbeque house. I love to smell the hickory smoke as I sit down to a big helping of grits, eggs and country ham. It is very hard to find this breakfast anywhere.
This restaurant is a country boys delight as they have barbeque sandwich plates, vegetable plates, country-fried steak, and grilled steaks. The biggest problem at the Old Hickory House is choosing what to eat because it all sounds and is delicious.
You will enjoy their hospitality as well as the sauce and come prepared to chow down, as the portions are big.
Easy to find and plenty of parking the Old Hickory House is another fine barbeque establishment in Atlanta.
Well there you have four of the best barbeque restaurants in Atlanta. Hope to see you there soon!
