The 4 Best Handwriting Note Taking Apps for the iPad and iPad 2
iPad Apps that Are Perfect for Handwriting Notes
Notes Plus - $5.99
Note Plus HD is a bit pricier than the other free-hand note taking apps in this list, but it's more than worth the extra few bucks because it's the most advanced handwriting app available for the iPad. Notes Plus works great with a stylus, combines hand notes and typed notes within the same interface, has lots of pen customization, can record audio notes, and even has a palm protection module - that'll curb palm interference when you are writing notes.
Penultimate - $3.99
Penultimate is the best-selling handwriting app for the iPad and was one of the first to hit the scene. Great for taking short notes and jotting things down quickly, Penultimate provides a very easy user interface, supports multiple pages, runs smoothly and is a very affordable solution for your handwriting needs.
Notability - $2.99
Notability is primarily a text based note taking iPad app, but it also provides an option to handwrite notes as well. If you only plan to handwrite notes every now and then, but type notes more often, you should definitely give Notability a shot - because what it lacks as an exclusive handwriting app, it more than makes up for with its feature packed text note taking features.
PaperDesk - $2.99
PaperDesk boasts very similar features to Notes Plus at an even more affordable price. PaperDesk supports both handwritten and text notes, can record audio, has built-in GoogleDocs support, and features six different types of pages. At the very affordable price of $2.99, PaperDesk is a great handwriting notes app and although it doesn't have as many features as Notes Plus, it has more than enough to make for a great free-hand note taking app.
