The 4 Most Overlooked, yet Awesome New Features of the iPad 2

The Best Overlooked Features of the iPad 2

The iPad 2 is likely the gadget that'll define the year 2011, but while most people are eager to point out the new cameras, faster processor, and thinner and lighter size of the iPad 2 as its best features, they usually pay no attention to these four awesome new features of the iPad 2.

The All-New Display

Wait. What? Most people assume that because the first and second generation has the same screen resolution, display dimensions, and look virtually the same minus the camera holes that there were no upgrades made to the display of Apples new tablet. Fortunately, those people are all wrong and Apple put lots of time into developing a thinner and more flexible display that makes the latest iPad less susceptible to being cracked than the first generation.

Gyroscope

Gamers rejoiced when Apple announced that their new tablet would feature a gyroscope, but mostly everyone else thought nothing about it, in fact, most people don't even know what a gyroscope is. The all new gyroscope of the iPad 2 gives the new tablet the ability to be controlled with 3-axis movement, meaning that instead of playing motioned controlled games and other apps by moving the iPad sideways, it can now be controlled by moving the tablet forward as well - which is perfect for 3D games.

Microphone / Speakers

You might have noticed this, but the iPad 2 has a way better microphone and speakers than the original. This little add-on makes communicating in video chat, recording movies, and listening to music on the iPad 2 way better than it was on its predecessor, yet this feature hardly ever gets the attention that it deserves.

Auto-Brightness

Lots of people are familiar with the new Smart Cover accessories that are able to automatically power-on and off the new iPad, but most people are aware of one of the secret elements behind that magical feature; auto-brightness. As is evident by its name, auto-brightness automatically dims or brightens the iPad 2's screen depending on the natural light in the room and is the magic behind the "peek-a-boo" auto on feature of the smart cover and aids in saving battery life by dimming the screen in a well-lit room.

Ipad. Totally unnecessary in the world of the Dell Streak.
