The duo once again had the crowd erupting in laughter with their own rendition of the Beverly Hillbillies theme song sang with a twist. New lyrics poked fun at Tiger Woods for "getting caught with some tail," mentioned the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill as the "bubbly" coming up from the ground, a big welcome to Gwyneth Paltrow, and a shout out to Tim McGraw for making it big in the movies.
The 44th Annual Country Music Award show was packed with entertainment by all the biggest stars in the country music industry. The audience was introduced to new music by Taylor Swift, Reba McIntire, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley and a duo by Jason Aldean and Kellie Pickler.
A special tribute to Loretta Lynn was performed by Miranda Lambert and Sheryl Crow. The duo did an awesome job and I was very impressed with Sheryl Crow's performance. Lambert and Crow were joined by Loretta Lynn on stage during the chorus of the song. This was an outstanding tribute to a past winner of the Female Vocalist of the Year Award.
Gwyneth Paltrow sang "Country Strong" from the movie of the same title along with Vince Gill singing backup. Paltrow will be back on the country music scene if my predictions are correct. She even plays the guitar!
And now on with the winners--
The winners of the 44th Annual Country Music awards are:
