The first one we're going to talk about is probably both the weirdest and the easiest DIY facial peel. All you need to do for this one is get some plain white school glue, such as Elmer's. If it is very thick, you may want to thin it slightly with a bit of warm water for ease of application. Spread a thin layer over your nose, chin, forehead and anywhere you have problems with blackheads or dry skin. Allow it to dry to a gummy consistency and remove.
A cucumber peel is generally a popular over the counter facial. You can make your own with just a few simple ingredients and a little effort. In addition to a cucumber, you will need 2 teaspoons of Aloe Vera - either fresh from the plant or gel from a bottle - and 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin. Peel the cucumber and then cut the fruit away from the inner seeds. Toss in a blender and liquefy for 1 minute. Pour it into a sieve over a small mixing bowl and allow to drain well, pressing as needed. Add the Aloe and the gelatin and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. Mix well and allow to cool completely. Apply, wait until it dries, then peel. You can also add an ounce of chamomile or green tea to the mix, if desired, before the heating stage.
For dry skin, take a tablespoon of unflavored gelatin and dissolve it in with half a cup of apple juice (for normal skin you can substitute ½ cup cranberry juice - or blend the two). Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, then place in the refrigerator for 15-25 minutes, until thick, but not quite set. Apply a thin layer to your face and allow to dry for about 20 minutes before peeling away.
For oily skin, repeat the steps above, but use ½ cup grapefruit juice for the liquid. You can also add a crushed up aspirin (salicylic acid is great for acne) to the mixture, substitute most other citrus juices for the grapefruit juice, and/or blend in a stiffly whipped egg white.
