The 5 Best Restaurants in Providence!

The beautiful city of Providence, Rhode Island is historic and modern all at the same time - from it's buildings and culture to it's food and entertainment. Elegant and classic looking brick and stonework meets modern bistros and fantastic eateries tucked in to the bustling scenery of a city filled with proud and hopeful New Englanders. Providence brings the best of the old world and the new world when it comes to food as well, and has always been known for it's fantastic collection of amazing restaurants.

This city offers something for every palette and price range, boasting everything from your outstanding falafel bar on college hill to your romantic five-star dining experience. If you live in Providence and are planning a night out, this list should remind you of your favorites, or hopefully get you to try something new. If you're traveling to Providence and experiencing the food and atmosphere for the first time, I encourage you to try as much that Providence has to offer as you can while you're here, and indulge in the incredible quality of a proud American capital's great cuisine.

La Creperie
If you're a fan of crepes, then clearly you'll love La Creperie. That is, if you like a tiny restaurant crammed with people but smelling of sweet, delicious crepes. This place has an incredible selection of crepes, endless combinations of ingredients and is priced moderately, considering it's convenient location near the shopping scene on Thayer street. Not only is the menu impressive, but the quality of the food is fantastic. The downfalls of La Creperie - little to no greeting when you enter, no sitting (or standing) room during peak hours, and the heavy use of paper and plastic food-ware products. Due to the amazing quality of the tasty food at La Creperie, and to the fact that I personally like smaller "hole-in-the-wall" gems, I have to add this to the list of the 5 best restaurants in Providence. Yum!

Kabob and Curry
A popular Indian food restaurant, Kabob and Curry is also found on Thayer St. on the corner of Meeting St. where the string of outdoor seating begins. Kabob and Curry has been praised by many native reviewers as some of the best tasting (and best priced) Indian food available in Providence, and the atmosphere is held in high regard as well. There's a full bar, and it's great at accommodating a group of your friends when you want a night of good food and good drinks. They also have an impressive vegan and vegetarian menu, making it more traveler-friendly.

Siena
Siena is usually packed with people, and most of those people are locals. Keeping in mind that the majority of Providence locals are Italian, it's no surprise that Siena is a good find when it comes to great Italian food in the city. Located on Atwells Ave, it's in the heart of Federal Hill and the favorite spot of many locals and travelers alike. It's got good sit-down appeal, as well as a busy bar atmosphere and an attentive and hard-working waitstaff. The food is praised as some of the best in Providence, and not just among Italian food, but among all food!

Gracie's
With a fantastic chef and a (live) jazz atmosphere, Gracie's has grown to be one of Providence's favorite and most elite restaurants. On Washington St. in downtown Providence, Gracie's has been living up to it's hype as not only one of Rhode Island's best contemporary restaurant gems, but one of New England's as well. The food is exquisitely presented, and is considered by many to be the most delicious and innovative cuisine Providence has to offer. While Gracie's is an expensive outing to say the least, it's a beautiful place that offers the possibility of making your dining experience of the more romantic nights of your life. With a good wine selection, beautiful and delicious food, and a very aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, Gracie's can certainly be considered one of Providence's best nights out, especially with your loved one.

Capital Grille
Located near Providence's favorite clubs and bars, Capital Grille is Providence's most beloved hot-spots according to unbiased diner reviews. Capital Grille is known for their mouthwatering steaks and perfectly cooked seafood, and their atmosphere is not to be forgotten either. This is a perfect place for both groups of buddies or the pretty lady you're trying to impress - it's got good food of all price ranges as well as an impressive bar menu. Capital Grille's location is great as well, it's not directly in the heart of the city but it's got enough foot traffic and curb appeal to draw a group of passersby inside. Almost everyone that gives a review or comment about Capital Grille has something positive to say about it, leaving very little to be desired when it comes to great dining in Providence. With seriously tasty food, a fantastic inside atmosphere, and a location as prime as it's steak, Capital Grille crawled it's way to the top of Providence's best restaurant list - and by the looks of things, it might stay there for a while!
