The 5 Greatest Songs Inspired by Sports

C.B. Jones
Sports and music go together like sardines and a starving alley cat. With the right kind of music, you can experience some of the same emotions that go through the heads of your favorite athletes while they are competing. The following list documents the five best sport inspired songs.

Roundball Rock, by John Tesh.
A lesser man would exclude Roundball Rock(better known as the NBA on NBC theme) from a list like this, if only because it was conceived by the Jack of all trades known as John Tesh. this song isn't great because of Tesh.

Roundball Rock great because of all the phenomenal games that happened during NBC's run with the National Basketball Association. If not for Jordan, Malone, Ewing, O'Neal and others, this theme would be just another so-so piece of music to accompany an impending sports broadcast.

Monday Night Football, by Hank Williams Jr.
Lyrics can either make or break and song. Hank Williams Jr. knew this for a fact. Monday Night Football is a classic anthem that commands NFL fans to gather in front of the television and get ready for a potentially great game.

We Are The Champions, by Queen.
Freddy Mercury can either be seen as a musical genius, or some short guy with a porn-stash who knew how to hit a few high notes. I'm leaning towards the former. We Are The Champions is the ultimate tune to hum while relishing in an outstanding victory.

Super Bowl Shuffle, by the 1985 Chicago Bears.
When thinking of a top five list of corniest rap songs I've ever heard in my life, Super bowl shuffle topped said list. It's hands down the lamest thing I have on my mp3 Sansa right now.

If this song were a wet dog, it'd be dripping with wack juice. What's my reasoning for including it in this prestigious list? Mike Ditka. While he wasn't featured it the music video, he did coach the '85 Bears to a Super Bowl victory. Depending on who you talk to, Ditka can do no wrong(and anything linked to Ditka is flawless).

Eye of the Tiger, by Survivor.
Some people would say this song is overrated. those very same people would also go as far as to say this list would be much better without mentioning anything related to the Rocky flicks.

People who say such things are miserable human beings who need to lighten up and enjoy life instead of being so bloody negative all the time. Eye Of The Tiger is a certified classic. I dare somebody to say otherwise.
