The 5 Minute Nose Job

Katie Palmer
There are lots of women out there who are unhappy with their nose. Some complain that it is too large, too wonky, or just not right for their face. Many people would feel more confident if they could change the shape of their nose. Years ago, people only really had nose jobs for medical reasons. Nowadays, it is far more common for someone to have a nose job for cosmetic reasons.

We've all seen the reality TV shows where someone gets a makeover and has a nose job. Now, I don't know about you, but I could never watch the surgeon chiselling away at someone's nose as though he was carving a statue out of marble! Ouch! The result was the person coming round from the anaesthetic looking like they'd been in a bad fight and lost. No thank you! In addition, they would undergo a general anaesthetic, incisions would be made in the nostrils and then bones would be broken. A splint would then have to be worn for ten days afterwards, with swelling and bruising lasting up to six months. Thankfully, there is now an alternative to this harsh procedure.

There is a new form of rhinoplasty, created by Dr. Mulholland, which has been dubbed "The 5 Minute Nose Job", so-called because the injections administered only take minutes to work. Another term for this is also the "injectable nose job". The results that are achieved using this procedure are as follows...

For example, if you have a bridge on your nose, the doctor will inject above and below it to smooth out your profile. Filler can also transform flat "scoop" noses into strong, straight ones. The fillers last for six or seven months and it costs around $1,000, which is less than half the price of a regular nose job.

A few years ago, I had a bad horse-riding accident and broke my nose in two places. I also split the ridge of my nose (and gained two black eyes in the process) because the peak of my riding hat smashed into my face when I hit the ground. Once the bruising had gone down, which took a while, my nose was left crooked in the middle and I was unhappy with it. After doing some research, I felt that a full nose job would be too harsh and my nose was too delicate to go through it. Finally, I found an advert that offered fillers and immediately gave the clinic a call. After a consultation, I booked in for my treatment and just 3 weeks later my nose looked as good as new! No-one believed me when I told them I had broken my nose only a few weeks earlier and they demanded to know the name of the clinic!
