The 5 Sexiest Final Fantasy Characters

Ann Olson
The sexiest character from any Final Fantasy is often debated; most fans of the '90s settle on Sephiroth whereas older fans still get excited over Cecil of Final Fantasy 4 fame. Male fans have a definite favorite, however: Tifa, the big busted kick boxing protagonist who dared opponents only clad in a tight miniskirt and a form fitting wife beater. So who made the list? Let's see which characters made the 5 Sexiest Final Fantasy Characters list-and which ones didn't exude enough mana to even reach spot 5.

The 5 Sexiest Final Fantasy Characters

Sexiest #5: Auron (Final Fantasy 10)
Sure, he has a few strands of gray in his hair, but that didn't stop most fan girls from writing numerous fanfics (the shortened term for fan fiction) pairing him with his other party members-Tidus, Lulu, and Jecht to name a few. Though you never saw his full physique, his off shoulder ensemble revealed lean, rippling muscle, enough to send fan girls wild for more. To top it all off, he dominated the battlefield with his sword without breaking a sweat. Men like him too-his personality and fighting style even earned him a spot in Electronic Gaming Monthly's Top Ten Badass Undead list. Is Auron sexy? Yes, and perhaps one of the oldest characters to earn a spot on the Sexiest Final Fantasy Characters list.

Sexiest #4: Fran (Final Fantasy 12)
Although this video game left much to be desired storyline-wise, Fran made up for it. Belonging to a weirdly Playboy-inspired race called viera, a rabbit-like race filled with dark skinned, ample bosomed women with long rabbit ears, arched hooves, and very little clothing, Fran was first featured in Final Fantasy trailers walking through Rabanastre with her cheeks on proud display, commanding every boy's attention. Fran never overplayed her sexiness in Final Fantasy 12, but her choice of clothing-tight armor that barely covered her unmentionables-spoke for itself. Fran easily earns a spot on the Sexiest Final Fantasy Characters list because she doesn't need to prove her sex appeal with her words. Instead, her hooves do all the talkin'.

Sexiest #3: Squall (Final Fantasy 8)
Though many dislike this character because was a jerk who hated the spotlight, fan girls were obsessed with him. His smooth, brown hair and nearly perfect looks also earned him the spot in many fanfics, mostly with co-leads Rinoa and Seifer. He simply looked too good, and some even claim he was the video game version of Gackt, the former singer of Malice Mizer who also donned the same style a couple of years earlier. Even the characters in the game coveted him too-both Quistis and Rinoa fought to claim his heart, but only Rinoa succeeded. Good looks, a kick butt leather jacket, and the ability to handle weapons with surprising finesse-what more can you ask for?

Sexiest #2: Tifa (Final Fantasy 7)
Boys growing up the '90s idolized her. Why? Because she could demolish opponents and throw combos in a short skirt and a mid riff top. Unlike other female characters, Tifa wasn't weak or unable to defend herself, and is easily considered one of the strongest (and sexiest) characters in the Final Fantasy 7 lineup. Want to own Shinra? Put in Tifa and launch a Final Heaven for complete eradication.

It's easy to see why Tifa earned spot 2 on the Sexiest Final Fantasy Characters list. Unlike other female characters, she didn't need constant saving or only could heal to contribute to battle. She managed to wipe out enemies with her bare fists without exploiting her sex appeal.

Sexiest #1: Sephiroth (Final Fantasy 7)
The entire Final Fantasy series is iconized by one man only: Sephiroth, the long haired elite soldier turned villain in FF7. Girls swoon over his green aqua eyes, his silvery hair, and his longest asset, the Masamune, but even boys consider Sephiroth a legendary character. Electronic Gaming Monthly ranked him number one on their Video Game Bosses list, and he regularly reaches on top GameFAQ character charts as the best video game villain. Sephiroth is a quality character, both in his motivations and his ruthlessness, but girls still consider him the sexiest character to grace a FF game. By far, Sephiroth is the sexiest Final Fantasy character ever because his villainous nature is iconic, intriguing, and set with the biggest sword wielded by any character.

This concludes the 5 Sexiest Final Fantasy Characters list, but there may be an update if Lightning of the upcoming Final Fantasy 13 video game proves she's better stuff.

Honorable Mentions: Vincent (FF7), Seymour (FF10), Edea (FF8), and Cecil (FF4).

Sephiroth is a bit feminine don't you think?

Great article, I'm a huge fan of Square and the Final Fantasy series. FF7 and Secret of Mana are my top 2 video games.

You know, you totally sucked me in with this article. I LOVE the Final Fantasy games but never thought of the characters like this. I wrote an article about video games I'd like to see turned into live-action flicks, & Final Fantasy was one of them (thought I'm not sure which # I'd like best hahah)....man, imagine if you were in charge of casting?!

If I made it male exclusive, Vincent would definitely be in the top 3. One of the first things I do in Nibelheim is get him, even if I'm at level 23, haha.

Hey brilliant Article! Nice to read something on AC I am interested in. I just want to let you know that Vincent deserves to be in the top 5, just a personal opinion.
