The 60s All Over Again on Wall Street as Protests Are Made Against the MAN

As the great express train of life has passed the station and headed towards the end of the line for me I wonder if people in the press are as plain dumb as they seem to act. You can't tell me that a whole news industry populated by products of the 60's doesn't recognize themselves in those occupying Wall Street.

I was there and working in the entertainment and news industry when the hippy movement took root. When let's take down the man and destroy the establishment ruled the airwaves and feature film production. Because I was a part time actor and journalist and finishing my graduate degree in film and journalism and my father a reserve police officer I saw was happening from all sides.

On the sound stages of Hollywood left was replacing the conservatives that had been running the industry. It became more like a business machine turning out the same product day after day then it had been before.

Protest movies that were turned out by the studies in the 60's were produced directed and written by by old men and women that as young men and women had been turning out the films turning the great depression about had bad things were and little the government was doing to fix them. Those same people turning those films out and now churning the anti lets screw that "man" were the "man" but didn't know it.

The professors that were teaching me and others in film and journalism were those that wrote the book on anti-government anti-business film production in the 30's when they were young men and women. They had become the "man."

My father as a police officer often had to deal with the children of those mentioned above when they were trying to bring down the government, business and the man. Because he like I was also in the film industry when he got his orders to protect property, people and the law he was often busting the heads of children of people that he knew and worked with in the industry.

He also built homes one home at a time to help pay the bills. In other words this head busting officer that worked in the film industry also qualified as the man because he was also a business man. Never got rich but was a business "man."

Today in an area of Venice where all the homes are at least 7 figures a young man came out of a home and nearly ran me and my partner over on abridge with his bike. On his t-shirt it read he supported the action on Wall Street and against the "man."

Expensive bike from a million dollar home, he's the "man" also.

When I look at what is going on in New York and around the world I see the 60's all over again. The children and grandchildren of the "man" protesting now against all that surrounds they just like their parents did in the 60's.

The 60's protestors are now teachers, film makers, journalists, politicians and the god awful business "man" that are so hated. Like their parents these protestors want to bring the system down, not fix it, and just bring it down.

These protestors just like their parents are on the left of the political spectrum and just like their parents in the 60's have total disregard for the rights of others. Only their rights are important and they know that they are the ones that are suffering the most.

I am also a product of the end of the great depression and have seen much change during my life but something's never seem to ever change. Those people that think they are owed never vanish, and they want to have what others have and will bring down a world to get it.

The parents don't see themselves in their children. As their parents did in the 60's they don't even take the movement seriously when they of all people should know better.

I look and I see is what familiar to me. But even though what I see is not for the best at this time and place in history, history says it will pass but not before much damage has been done to society as it was in the 60's.

As is the nature of history and proved over and over again, those that wish to bring down and destroy the establishment eventually become the"man."
