Ready to hit the course for an exciting game of golf? If so, then you'll love teeing off for a cause at the 7th Annual American Liver Foundation Golf Classic on October 1, 2007.

Casino nights, auctions, and trivia contests are all excellent ways to get the community together to help raise money for a worthy organization, and this golf classic is no exception. This competition will have it all: food, cocktails, auctions, and of course golf, and you'll be right in the middle of the action! Contests in the classic will include a four-person scramble - three flights - that will win first and second place. Also look forward to hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest drive, and putting contests. All monies raised will go to support the American Liver Foundation's on-going mission as well as their community outreach and education efforts.

Formed nationally in 1976, the American Liver Foundation sought to fill a void left in the country from the many voluntary health agencies that devoted their time, energy and money primarily to combating liver diseases. It wasn't until the American Liver Foundation was formed that more was taken into consideration. The organization, consisting of scientists and healthcare professionals, placed their concern with the rising incidences of liver disease, but went one step further to focus on educating both the general public and the medical community about these often fatal diseases so that everyone could begin taking preventative measures. Now, the American Liver Foundation stands as the nation's leading nonprofit organization, promoting liver health and disease prevention, and providing research, education and advocacy for those affected by liver-related diseases, including hepatitis. In joining the golf classic, you'll not only be helping to raise money, you'll be saving lives.

The golf classic will start with registration, the opening of the driving range, and lunch being served from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m. At noon sharp, the shotgun will be fired signaling participants to begin teeing off. And at 5:30 p.m. the awards ceremony, recognizing community leaders, will begin. At that time cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Also, those interested will be able to participate in the live or silent auction.

The classic will be held at the Whitmoor Country Club in St. Charles, MO. The cost is $250 per golfer or $1,000 per foursome. Each golfer may also purchase up to two mulligans. Mulligans are $10 each or 8 for $75. Please note that it will be mandatory to wear appropriate golf attire (collared shirts and shorts with at least a six-inch inseam and no denim). Soft spikes will also be mandatory.
