The abdominoplasty procedure is one of the more popular ways for people to remove excess skin from their midsection of the body. Though it might sounds misleading, this not actually a weight loss procedure but instead a way for areas that are resistant to fat loss to be evened out. When losing fat it is not lost evenly. Instead, when you lose fat, some cells deplete their fat content and other cells will stay the same. With the abdominoplasty you can look like you never carried any extra weight at all.
The actually procedure itself is fairly intense. The procedure involves making a small incision to the area that is chosen for the surgery and the muscle being separated from the fat and skin. The fat and excess tissues at this point are removed at this point in order to give that natural look. The layers of skin are then sutured and tightened so I will look good as new.
Then the patient enters the recovery period. It will still be awhile before the patient can appreciate the money that was put into the surgery. It is common that while the patient is mobile there movement will be extremely limited because of the residual pain; bleeding and swelling that are guaranteed after the abdominoplasty surgery.
These symptoms, however, will decrease over time if the patient follows a correct recovery plan. It is imperative to follow all of the doctor's orders during this time to make sure that you will be able to main a healthy lifestyle. You will also have to rework your schedule to make it easier to spend more time in bed during this time. It is actually recommended that you take a full week off of work in order to fully recuperate the surgery.
After the surgery you will have to schedule check up exams to make sure the abdominoplasty procedure is healing properly. During these checkups a doctor will look at the wounds and give you advice and possible medication to facilitate a fast recovery. After a short period of checkups you just have to make sure not to put excess strain on your stomach to make the results last.
