Artificial Intelligence Will Impact on Our World in Incredibly Significant Ways

DrD
Will you agree that computers have changed just about everything? Even if you are a hard core "the internet has changed everything," believer, surely you realize, that internet wouldn't be possible without computers. They've changed all of our lives in such significant ways, the coming year will mark an incredibly significant time, here is why.

Computers, technology, which thinks, not just, let's you input to it to compute, but actually, thinks along with you. This technology has been woefully labeled as "artificial intelligence," (AI) which in the past has allowed debaters to dismiss the power of the technology by the obvious fact of artificial intelligence not existing, yet. Only now that can't be said, AI is not only here, it has been around for many years progressing in its ability to grow, learn and adapt to you and me. Dr. Ray Kurzweil [1] points out, the sum of human knowledge is now doubling each year, soon that figure will further condense to six months, then months eventually reaching a point of the sum of human knowledge doubling in real time references.

How this has affected you significantly now takes form in popular search engines like Google, for example, which regularly asks a person "Did You Mean" then underlines what the search engine believes you were looking for. As databases of AI enhanced use, work behind the scenes in world commerce, providing remarkably deeper and better information which leads to a far more sophisticated dispersal of the commerce you and I consume. AI benefits you now, yet the most remarkable changes are coming, they'll begin to spread out in the next year as a much faster internet will allow AI to expand more quickly hence, thoroughly. Examples of some amazing changes will be: studies in life longevity, currently taking place, enhanced through AI database interactions. Results in genome research with a very real window toward further cures for cancers previously beyond the reach of medicine. Nutritional AI based research to head off pending world food shortages due to the enormous disasters of 2008. These are some amazing possibilities and they provide fascinating and powerful examples of what this technology can do, but next year at this time, you will find yourself being astonished as you and others use Google to look for information about brain transfers onto hard drives. [2]

Sounds incredible, but it's possible, now, and by this time next year, it will be even more developed and further along the path toward your personal use. Such storage will allow future generations to interact with all you know at present. That almost sounds like science fiction, but in truth, it's becoming science fact. Imagine your future children's children being able to actually ask you how you felt about this time you live in, and getting the answer from your virtually represented real brain over a hundred years hence? Questions from your children's children answered from your loving concern, it's a world shaker, isn't it? [3]

One result of artificial intelligence is seen in genome research where cures for cancer are springing forth.
