The iPhone has offers all the essentials that any pre-teen requires. It offers easy texting and emails applications. Then you throw in the games, Internet search functions and your pre-teen will be in constant contact with their friends and family. The only drawback from the iPhone is the price tag of around $300 dollars.

The #2 Must Have Toy for Pre-teen Girls, according to my daughter is...A Laptop. Now, since my daughter received a laptop for her birthday last year, she tends to towards the Toshiba Satellite brand. Again, this toy is used to stay in constant contact with her friends.

The Toshiba Satellite that pre-teen girls seem to gravitate towards have a 17 inch LCD screen and must have a dual core...You know, so they can communicate with more than one friend. When not in constant communication with all their friends, pre-teen girls like to relax, put in their ear-buds and listening to their favorite music. The iPod my daughter has is the 3GB Chromatic Nano, which not only plays music, it also plays videos.

It has a 2.5 inch screen which allows for crystal clear video viewing. This allows your pre-teen to enjoy the both of best world...music and video. I order the iPod Nano directly from the Apple web site and had my daughter's name engraved on the back. It made a great Christmas gift and only costs $199, plus tax and shipping.
