The Abyss is No Deeper

And after having lived through it, I would never complain,
Or even let him see that I would never be the same.
I would still see each day with him as blessed from above,
Still think likely of the night to again show depth in my love.

Oh, if that were a certain possible fate, I'd be honored to oblige,
If Gracious God instead allowed the sentence to be mine.
You see, love is in the showing, not the telling, hardly so!
It would honor me to walk for him where no man wants to go.

Let it ever be said that my love for him is deeper than the Abyss,
If not thicker than the pitiless Satan and his virulent fits.
On any day I am prepared, if the Good Lord will allow,
To walk through hell for My Beloved . . .
In word, deed and vow.
